We’re excited to offer tax filing services through our partnership with TurboTax this year. To get started, open the Taxes tab in the app, select a plan, and begin filing.
Who can I contact if I have questions about my taxes?
If you’re filing through our partnership with TurboTax, you can contact their support team by chatting on their website or calling 1-800-446-8848.
Otherwise, we recommend consulting your tax advisor or accountant for any questions related to your filing.
Can I have my tax refund deposited into Current even if I'm filing elsewhere?
Yes! No matter who you file with, you can get your tax refund up to 5 days faster by depositing it into your Current account.
Just go to Account > Account Numbers in the app to find your account and routing number, and enter it as the direct deposit account for your refund when filing your taxes.
When can I expect my tax refund?
Once your tax return is accepted, the IRS typically issues refunds within 21 days. You can keep an eye on the status of your refund in the app by navigating to Taxes > Check Refund Status.
Does Current accept joint refunds?
Make sure your tax refund is in your name before depositing it into your Current account. Refunds with mismatched information may be rejected and sent back to the IRS.
I took a Paycheck Advance and it hasn't been repaid yet. Will my tax refund go toward paying back my Paycheck Advance?
Your tax refund belongs to you. It will not be used to automatically repay your Paycheck Advance. However, you can choose to use your tax return to manually repay an unpaid Paycheck Advance. If you'd like to do that, you can do so in the Current app on the Paycheck Advance screen.
*Early access to tax refunds depends on the timing of the submission of the payment file from the payer. We generally make these funds available on the day the payment file is received, which may be up to 5 days earlier than the scheduled payment date.
