Why was my tax refund returned to the IRS?

Your tax refund may have been returned to the IRS for one of the following reasons:

  1. The name on your tax return doesn’t match the name on your Current account
  2. You attempted to deposit a tax refund from another individual not listed on your account
  3. The information you entered (account number, routing number, name, etc.) was incorrect
