Will I Receive a Provisional Credit for my Dispute?

If our investigation requires additional time, we will issue a Provisional Credit for qualifying disputes by the 10th business day (or 20 business days for any disputed transactions that occurred within 30 days of making your first deposit).  Please note that business days do not include weekends or holidays.

Under Regulation E, the following types of disputes qualify for Provisional Credit:

  • Unauthorized Transactions
  • Duplicate Transactions
  • Canceled Recurring Transactions
  • ATM Funds Not dispensed
  • Incorrect Amount Billed
  • Paid By Other Means
  • Credit Not Processed By Merchant

I filed a Credit (Build Card) dispute. Am I eligible for a provisional credit?

Credit (Build Card) disputes fall under Regulation Z and do not qualify for a provisional credit. Instead, while we investigate, the disputed transaction(s) are temporarily removed from your owed balance.

  • If the dispute is resolved in your favor, the disputed amount will be credited to your Spending balance.
  • If the dispute is not resolved in your favor, the amount will be added back to your total amount due on your next billing date.

What happens to my Provisional Credit if I win my dispute?

After review, if it’s determined that the dispute was resolved in your favor, then the provisional credit that was applied to your account will remain permanent.

Why was my Provisional Credit reversed?

If your provisional credit was reversed, it means that after a thorough review, we determined that there was no error in this instance.  You will receive a notification at least 5 business days before the amount is set to be debited from your account.
