What is Overdrive?
Overdrive allows qualifying Premium members of Current to overdraft up to $100 for purchases when using their Current debit card. This feature comes with no overdraft fees, so we have your back when you need it!
How do I qualify for Overdrive?
Overdrive is available for Premium members, and we’ll determine your eligibility for it based on the amount that you receive in direct deposits from an employer or provider. In order to qualify and enroll in Overdrive, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Maintain a Current Premium Account
- Receive $500.00 or more in Qualifying Deposits into your Account over each 30-day period
If your account qualifies for Overdrive, you’ll receive a notification from us letting you know that the feature was enabled. Once enabled, you can check your limit by tapping Overdraft Protection in the You section of your account.
Overdrive can be disabled if you do not receive $500 or more in direct deposits in a 30-day period, but can be re-enabled once you do! We may determine additional requirements or adjust existing requirements at our discretion.
What is a qualifying deposit?
Qualifying Deposits include Automated Clearing House (ACH) direct deposits from your employer, payroll provider, or Social Security.
Bank ACH transfers, unemployment insurance payments, peer-to-peer transfers between bank accounts, transfers made to debit cards from digital wallets or P2P services (PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or other similar services) mobile check deposits, and cash deposits are not deposits that qualify for Overdrive or increases to your limit.
Can I get a higher Overdrive limit?
Yes, the limit on Overdrive starts lower and can increase up to $100 over time. As you continue to use your account and make successful deposits we will periodically review your account and increase your limit when possible. More details about Overdrive can be found here under Overdrive.
Is there an additional fee for using Overdrive?
Nope! As a qualifying Premium member you will be able to enjoy the peace of mind that comes with Overdrive and we will not charge you a fee to use it.
Does Overdrive cover all of my purchases?
Overdrive will work with in-store or online transactions made with your debit card. It doesn't cover ATMs transactions, Peer to peer payments, ACH payments such as bill pay, or Current Pay transactions.
